The Santa Barbara HOT SHOTS Youth Percussion Ensemble is a master class for students to develop their rhythmical skills and share their music through performances. We practice traditional West African rhythmical arrangements, contemporary rhythms, body percussion and vocals. We play a variety of high quality hand drums, stick drums, and assorted hand percussion instruments. Every season we do live performance(s) or make videos for our YouTube Channel.

Rehearsals on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons, 4 - 5:30PM, at the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara. Its $20 to join the B&G Club, then all activities & Hot Shots are free.

We are very grateful for the sponsorship of the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation, which makes it virtually free for the students to participate. Anyone in the SB area, ages 10 - 15, is welcome to play. All instruments and instruction are provided.

Please be aware this is not a drop-in class, it is a performance ensemble. Players must be able to attend all rehearsals and performances. No previous experience is required, just a cooperative attitude and willingness to learn. If selected, you must be able to attend ALL of the rehearsals and performances and be on time, every single time.
